18 July 2017: A PLACE-NAMES WALK IN ABERYSTWYTH

A place-names walk was held around the town of Aberystwyth, led by Gerald Morgan, the prolific author and local historian.

Some twenty of us were taken on a tour along North Parade, down Bridge Street, to the harbour. The names of historic streets and buildings were highlighted. We returned along the South Prom, Pier Street, and Eastgate (visiting Windmill Court on the way) and back to the Morlan Centre along Portland Street.

Congratulations to Gerald for his success in opening everyone’s eyes, even those of us who thought we were very familiar with Aberystwyth!
