On Wednesday, October 18, Richard Huws discussed his book on the names of houses and farms in Bont-goch, Enwau tai a ffermydd Bont-goch (Elerch), Ceredigion, with the members of Cymdeithas y Penrhyn, Penrhyn-coch, Aberystwyth. We had an interesting evening in his company as he led the audience on a tour of Bont-goch discussing the place-names of the area and their history.
The study was based on a work awarded first prize in a place-name competition organized jointly by the Welsh Place-Name Society and the Ceredigion Agricultural History Society in November 2016.
The volume is published by the author with the help of the Cronfa Eleri Fund. It is on sale in local shops and Welsh bookshops, or can be ordered on the gwales.com website. Any profits will be given to the Wales Air Ambulance charity.
